It is said that a poor but kind-hearted young man married a girl from a wealthy family. On their wedding day, he wanted to give his bride something that expressed his love, but all he could afford was a small golden necklace that he had carefully chosen for her.When he presented it to her, the necklace was too small to be worn around her neck. Her mother looked at it with surprise and said: “He brought her Khit Al-Rouh,” referring to how small and delicate the necklace was.
But the bride’s father took the piece and placed it on his daughter’s forehead. Suddenly, it looked like a delicate little crown adorning the bride’s face.
