To light the majmar is to perform one of the oldest gestures of Omani life — a greeting to guests, a comfort at dusk, a thread connecting a house to its ancestors. This set pairs a hand-carved burner with Dhofari frankincense, held together in leather stitched by our craftspeople the way saddlers once worked their hides. The burner is shaped from local wood; the resin is gathered from the mountain groves of southern Oman where the trade in frankincense first began. Bound in leather, the set is made to be carried to a friend's home or given at a wedding, so the ritual can travel wherever it is needed.
